About Homestead Studio

In 1862 thousands of women headed west to take advantage of the Homestead Act. The US Government offered 160 acres of promise to any qualifying woman brave enough to stake her claim.

The Homestead Studio is a celebration of the women who still seize the oppurtunity to stake their claim. In our modern world they are artists, homemakers, entrepreneurs, designers, mothers, farmers, and so much more.

They are the makers of beautiful things. The Homestead Studio reflects the legacy of female makers; it showcases modern women building beautiful lives and pays homage to those who came before us. Let us stake our claim as creators, loved and equipped by our Creator with resiliency and hope.

Here’s to the women with ideas as big as the western skies and dreams as vast as the prairie.
